"The Hite
of Volunteerism" — Volunteer Profile

Statesboro
Pacer friends extraordinaire, Jim Hite and Joyce Hodges-Hite, pictured here at
the Tybee Half-Marathon February 2009, are the epitome of running role models
for all of us, ranging from the new runner to the seasoned runner! Anytime one's
motivation begins to wane, they need only talk with the Hites to recharge their
batteries. These two folks are two of my personal heroes whom I'd most like to
be like when (if) I grow up! They have done so much for the running community on
every level—local, regional, national, and world, and their altruistic volunteer
ways have been nicely recognized in the April 2010 issue of the "Wingfoot"
magazine, published by the Atlanta Track Club. Click here to

Also, save the date, November 13, 2010 for the 12th annual Cross Country 4.8 mile race & 1 mile run, which they and the Millen Milers and More running club host at Magnolia Springs State Park in Millen, GA. Without a doubt, this is THE best cross country race around and excellently organized! Details to come on our race calendar as they become available. Meanwhile, last year's info remains at this site for reference.
